Career Panel: Arts & Entertainment

During the beginning of this month, the Career Center at Cal State San Marcos, hosted a panel discussion, relating to careers in arts and entertainment. Each panelist had an extensive amount of advise to offer within the scope of both their personal and professional experiences. The panel included two writers, a filmmaker, a PR agent and a creatives director.

A full house of students eager to learn about how to advance in their careers as artists.

The panel ended with a brief Q&A segment and soon turned over to individual questioning from students who had time to check in with each of the panelists. Overall, the panel provided a great amount of insight for how and when each student should take up their opportunity to begin their careers as artists or to become part of a team for the entertainment business. There were several statements mentioned on how to accept professional criticism, building one's own portfolio, steps on how to network with fellow peers and how to apply for certain internships or jobs. We hope that the next year the panel will again be packed to the brim with students eager to learn about how to contribute their talents for an occupation of interest.
